Tropical Storm Melissa has all the weather forecasters in a tizzy. It’s still far from Florida, but we are watching the updates every day, of course. It looks like it will have the biggest impact on Cuba, Haiti and Dominican Republic for now.

More details were released about the drug bust from a few weeks ago. It sounds like this guy is in deep doo-doo. Not only did he run from the police (bad idea at any time, and a worse idea when they have a K9 unit), but he was known for selling fentanyl in place of cocaine. He was also in possession of a bunch of cash, some weed and some meth.

Vero Beach airport is under construction. In an interesting twist, it is coming to light that nobody in the Vero Beach government had any idea that JetBlue and American Airlines were going to start offering flights in Vero. They just announced they were doing it, and that’s that.

One of the great things about this country is that you can just do stuff, and many times, nobody can stop you.

Four different events are converging at Indian River Fairgrounds on Halloween weekend. The 17th Annual Indian River Marine Flea Market and Seafood Festival, the Treasure Coast Automotive/Car Swap Meet and Car Show, and the Treasure Coast Seafood & Marine Wildlife Art Festival will all be there. Parking should be a real treat, so get there early.

Indian River County has the highest percentage of home sales paid in cash of anywhere in the US. 62.7% of homes sales here are cash deals, compared to 28% nationwide.
