Three new laws take effect in Florida on January 1st. Two are related to insurance practices and one pet wellness.
The yellow license plate stickers may become a thing of the past if some Florida lawmakers get their way. It DOES seem a bit archaic to force everyone to use the stickers when the computers and cameras are scanning and storing every move your car makes anyway.
Some lawmakers are trying once again to change the state bird in Florida from the mockingbird to the flamingo. I don’t know where they get the energy to pursue some of these things, but here we are.
The Indian River County School Board approved the districtwide consolidation and merger plan last week. The move is intended to improve the efficiency of the system due to declining enrollment.
